Golf Exercise Routines
By: Gregory Rossi
Below you will find some golf exercise routines that focus on different aspects to help your golf game.
The greatest things about the exercises we have chosen to add to this site are their simplicity and, when done correctly, their extreme effectiveness.
All you need to do most of the these exercises is your own body weight and focus. The few pieces of equipment used are cheap, easy to find and easy to use.
In the routines below we did not give you specific reps and weights to use. What we would recommend is the first time you do an exercise, do the reps slowly and concentrate on controlling your body and maintaining your posture. Do as many reps . . .
Golf Exercises
-
Mobility Exercises
Expanding your range of motion in golf specific movements will allow you to more effectively and controllably coil, increasing the power of your swing.
-
Stability Exercises
Maintaining a stable base and keeping your posture uniform throughout the entire swing is important to make a consistent strike.
-
Balance Exercises
One of the beauties of golf is that you are "playing the landscape," but playing the landscape means you're not always standing on level ground. Better balance can only help you maintain a stable base and posture.
-
Power Exercises
Increasing your strength and the explosive capabilities of your muscles will help you swing faster and with more power.
-
Stretching Exercises
Have trouble getting your rounds off to a good start? A little stretching can go a long way toward not only warming you up but also loosening your body up, letting you swing freer.
